🔐 Trezor.io/Start® | Starting™ Up Your Device | Trezór®
Welcome to the official guide for setting up your Trezór® hardware wallet. Whether you're new to crypto or simply looking for a more secure way to store your digital assets, this guide will help you navigate the full setup process with ease and confidence. 🔑
💡 Why use Trezor?
Your private keys stay offline, protected from hackers and malware. Every action requires physical confirmation — total security in your hands.
📦 What’s in the Box?
When you purchase a genuine Trezór® device, here’s what you should receive:
- ✅ Trezor Model One or Model T device
- 🔗 USB cable (C or micro-USB depending on model)
- 📄 Recovery seed backup cards (blank)
- 📘 Getting started guide
- 🎨 Trezor stickers and accessories
⚠️ Important: If your device arrives with a pre-filled recovery phrase, do not use it! Return it immediately. The phrase should only be generated by you, during first-time setup.
🌐 Step-by-Step: Visit Trezor.io/Start
- 🔌 Connect your Trezor device to your computer or Android phone via USB.
- 🌐 Go to https://trezor.io/start — always type it manually to avoid phishing.
- ⬇️ Download and install the Trezor Suite application for your OS.
- 🖱️ Open Trezor Suite and follow the prompt: “Create new wallet.”
- 🔐 Set your PIN and generate a new recovery seed (12 or 24 words).
✍️ Write down your seed phrase — by hand! Never save it on your phone or computer. This is your master backup key.
🔐 Creating a Secure PIN
Your PIN prevents unauthorized access. Trezor randomizes keypad layout for added protection. Choose a PIN that is unique and not easily guessed.
- ❌ Don’t use birthdays or simple codes (e.g., 1234)
- ✅ Use 6+ digits for more security
- 📴 If you enter the PIN wrong 16 times, the device wipes itself — another layer of protection
🧾 Your Recovery Seed = Your Wallet
The recovery seed phrase is the only way to restore access to your wallet if the device is lost, damaged, or stolen.
It must be:
- 📝 Written on paper or a metal backup card
- 🚫 Never stored in cloud or notes app
- 🔐 Kept in a safe, secret location
⚠️ If someone else gets your seed phrase, they control your crypto. Trezor never stores it — only you have access.
